Admission Policy & Procedure

New Covenant School admits students of any race, color, national or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school.

In keeping with our Christian, Covenantal, Classical Philosophy, we enroll students from families who understand and agree with the following principles:

  1. Christian—we will teach each subject from a thoroughly Christian perspective; we will instruct in and expect Christian behavior; and we will teach the Gospel as the only solution for mankind’s sin.
  2. Covenantal—we expect each family to have at least one parent who trusts in Christ alone for salvation. A typical interview question might be “If God were to ask you ‘why should I let you into my heaven?,’ what would you say?” In response, parents should be able to articulate a confident testimony of salvation by faith in Christ alone. We also expect parents to understand that as a ministry of New Covenant Church, the school will teach doctrine consistent with the Church’s teaching.
  3. Classical—In our accelerated program, students will need to have average to above average ability combined with the willingness and discipline to work diligently in order to be successful here.

New Covenant School reserves the right to deny admission to any child whose behavior, ability, or emotional development indicates that he or she could not best be served by the school.

Application Procedure:

  1. Submit student application along with a $25 non-refundable application fee.
  2. Attach grades from the current and previous year along with any standardized testing. You can get these from previous school’s guidance office.*
  3. Provide Church Leader and Teacher Recommendations. Recommendation Forms should be given directly to the child’s current teacher along with a postage paid envelope. The teacher will return it directly to us. In lieu of this form, home school parents should submit samples of student work. Please follow the same procedure for the Church Leader Recommendation Form. This can be given to a pastor, youth leader, elder, deacon, Sunday School teacher, etc. of the church where student attends. Understandably, some questions on these forms may not be applicable to younger children.
  4. Upon receipt of items 1, and 2, a personal interview with the school administrator, members of the School Board, and/or an appointed interview committee will take place. Item C must be received before we can make a final decision. **
  5. The family will be notified in writing of acceptance or denial.
  6. Upon notification of acceptance, the following must be submitted to NCS:
    • A payment of $300 to secure a position in the school. Due to enrollment demands, we cannot hold a position without this deposit. The amount is non-refundable, and will count toward next year’s tuition.
    • A signed Family Commitment Contract.
    • A copy of a birth certificate is to be submitted before the start of school.
    • Form 3032, South Carolina Certificate of Immunization, is to be submitted. All students entering 7th grade must have begun a series of three Hepatitis B shots. Religious Exemption Forms are available from the Health Department.

In the absence of grades or standardized testing, NCS reserves the right to require certain standardized testing be administered to fully evaluate the application.

Children of New Covenant Church families will be given priority consideration for admission.
