Payment Policy & Schedule:

  • Upon acceptance to NCS, a $300 payment is necessary to reserve a place for new students in a class. This amount is non-refundable and counts toward next year’s tuition. The Family Commitment Contract should also be signed.
  • Tuition is set as an annual fixed amount. This figure can be paid in full or divided into 10 or 12 monthly payments for the convenience of monthly budgeting and as a service to families.
  • Tuition payments begin August 1st and run through May 1st for the 10 month plan and begin June 1st and run through May 1st for 12 month plan. For 2009-2010 only, first payment under the 12 month cycle will be due June 15th, 2009.
  • Tuition is due on the 1st of each month and is considered late after the 10th of the same month. If the first should fall on a weekend, the payment will be due the Friday before.
  • All tuition and fees checks should be labeled "tuition" on the memo line and placed in a sealed, labeled envelope. You may drop them off personally at the school office in the designated box, or mail them directly to the school. Cash must be accepted by the bookkeeper or the administrative assistant and may not be left in the tuition box. You may also have your payments automatically deducted from your bank account. Forms are available upon request.

Past Due Payments:

  • If a past due amount exists on the account after the 10th of the month, a $50 late payment fee will be assessed to the account.
  • After the 25th of the month, reporting of student’s progress will be withheld, AND the late fee will be applied.
  • If an outstanding balance becomes more than sixty (60)-days past due, the student may be removed from enrollment and unable to return until the account is current.
  • No student may be re-enrolled whose account has an outstanding balance from the previous school year.
  • All records including report cards for a student will be released only after all charges for that student have been paid in full.
  • All debts must be satisfied prior to graduation for senior students.

Returned Checks:

  • If the bank returns a check to the school, a NSF fee of $25 or 2% (whichever is greater) will be charged to the family account, along with any late fees that may incur.

  • If the check is returned a second time, it will be charged back to the family account. Payment in cash, money order, or certified check will then be required.

Refunds:

  • Tuition is NON-refundable, as the school cannot release the parents from their financial obligation due to the school’s expenses and budget being incurred on an annual basis.
  • A family with enrolled child(ren) for the academic year are contractually bound to pay 100% of the full academic years’ tuition, regardless of circumstances causing the family to withdraw their child(ren) at any point during said enrolled school year.
  • Extenuating circumstances may be appealed in writing to the Headmaster and/or NCS Board.

Contributions:

  • New Covenant School is considered by the IRS as a 501(c)3 institution, which enables NCS to receive monetary contributions to our designated Mercy Assistance Fund (MAF), and is a tax-deductable contribution to the donor.
  • The distribution of the MAF is at the discretion of the NCS board.
  • Contributions to this fund are accepted and appreciated at any time, and simply require the check to NCS to be noted on the memo line as "Mercy Assistance Fund."

Additional Fees

Consumable Books & Materials

Students will pay for consumable books and materials supplied by the school. This may include art, science and computer lab fees. Hardback books will be rented and returned at the end of the year. Books and material fees will range between $125-$350 depending on grade and whether new or used books (if available) are purchased. NCS will provide a textbook list to each family mid-summer. Parents may either purchase or rent texts on their own or through the school. Books, testing, and materials fees will be due by orientation night.

From time to time, students will be offered the opportunity to take field trips of various types. Costs may vary.
